Dear Members,

ESTA Italy is pleased to announce an unmissable event for all music publishing enthusiasts: a day entirely dedicated to music books, promoted by the Association “Il Saggiatore musicale” in collaboration with the Museum of Music in Bologna.

The event celebrates the excellence of Italian music publishing, offering scholars, teachers and enthusiasts an opportunity for discussion and in-depth analysis. Eight publishers active in the two-year period 2023-2024 (Carocci, EDT, Libreria Musicale Italiana, NeoClassica, Olschki, Il Saggiatore, Società Editrice di Musicologia, Zecchini) selected three titles each: a commission then identified the eight most significant volumes, which will be presented and discussed by musicologists, critics and experts from various disciplines.

An invitation to discover how reading can enrich musical listening, and to reflect on the role of the written word in the transmission of musical knowledge.
