ESTA Italia at Cremona Musica 2026 – “Coordination in Violin Playing” with Alessio Nacuzi
Dear Members,
this year too ESTA Italia will be present at Cremona Musica, one of the most important international events for the world of bowed string instruments.
For the 2026 edition, our Association is proposing a gathering dedicated to a theme of great interest for violinists, teachers, and students: the relationship between global body coordination, instrumental gesture and sound quality.

The conference, held by M° Alessio Nacuzi, violinist, teacher and researcher, will present the research on the relationship between global body coordination and the violinist's fine motor skill, showing how posture, bow movement and sound quality are part of a single system body-instrument.
Through the physiology of music, biomechanics, pedagogy and injury prevention, new perspectives will be proposed for teaching and studying the violin in a more mindful, effective and sustainable way.
The meeting will therefore offer the opportunity to explore in-depth the role that movement and body awareness play in violin playing, with particular attention to the relationship between the musician's gesture and the sound produced, as well as the prevention of physical problems associated with instrumental practice.
Alessio Nacuzi
Alessio Nacuzi is a violinist, teacher and researcher.
After obtaining his diploma in Italy, he continued his studies at the prestigious Liszt Academy in Budapest, in the class of the head of the string department founded by Hubay. He subsequently obtained his solo violin diploma at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels, again in the class of the head of the department in which Charles-Auguste de Bériot, Henri Vieuxtemps, Henryk Wieniawski, Jenő Hubay, Eugène Ysaÿe, Arthur Grumiaux, and André Gertler taught.
He attended masterclasses given by: G. Franzetti, F. Cusano, A. Moccia, Ph. Herreweghe, F. Mezzena, M. Kowalski, Gy. Stuller, T. Varga, E. Grach.
He holds the violin chair at the “G. Bruno” Music High School in Rome.
He is a professor of Body Awareness Techniques and Pathophysiology of Vocal and Instrumental Performance at the ’Mascagni“ Conservatory in Livorno. He has played in various symphony orchestras (Haydn Orchestra, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra) and is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Europe.
In 2024 he completed a Master in Artistic Research at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia and in 2026 the Certification in Musikphysiologie at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). He is part of the research group of the Universities of Vienna, Osnabrück, Sydney, Pisa and Lucca that studies violinists' movements.
He is a Feldenkrais Method practitioner and Functional Movement System (FMS, SFMA and YBT) practitioner; he is also a Postural Education Technician (FIF) and trained in ’Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function“.
He is a mental trainer in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, with specialisations geared towards coaching and performance (sport and the performing arts), including behavioural and communication analysis tools. He has achieved Level 5 Suzuki violin training and his students play in international youth orchestras. come Concertgebouw.
