ESTA Italy at Cremona Music 2025

Dear Members,

Also this year ESTA Italy will be present at Cremona Musicone of the most important international events for the world of stringed instruments. Our Association will propose two events of great interestboth scheduled for Sunday 28 September 2025which represent two complementary sides of our commitment: scientific and pedagogical reflection on the one hand, and the enhancement of literature and teaching tools on the other.

ESTA Italy Seminar - 10.30 a.m.

The first meeting, by now a consolidated tradition of our presence in Cremona, will be dedicated to a topic that is as complex as it is topical:

"The musician's sensory world

During the seminar, the Prof. Anthony Mangiacotti (University of West London) will present the latest developments in neuroscience and psychology in relation to motor and perceptual control in musical practice. The Prof. Anna Modesti (Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana) will bring his teaching experience, highlighting recurring problems that arise in the teaching and handling of string instruments. Finally, the M° Antonello Farullipresident of ESTA Italy, will offer strategies and concrete ideas to address the difficulties identified, with an eye always turned to the integration of research and teaching practice.

The meeting will be complemented by the valuable live testimony of the cellist Giulia Mazzawho will share their personal experience.

Presentation of the Italian editions of Simon Fischer's books - 3 pm

In the afternoon, ESTA Italy will again be the protagonist, together with Volonté & Coin presenting the new Italian editions of the volumes of Simon Fischer: Basics, Practice is Scalesfundamental texts in contemporary violin literature.

The meeting will be introduced by Massimiliano Chiaretti (Volonté & Co), with the contribution of the Prof. Anna Modesti, ESTA Italy advisor and translator of the Italian editions, and the M° Antonello Farullipresident of ESTA Italy.

This occasion represents not only a moment of editorial appreciation, but also an opportunity to reflect on the impact Fischer's teaching has had (and continues to have) on violin education internationally.

We remind you that, as every year, ESTA members will have thefree admission at Cremona Musica (access modalities will follow shortly).

We look forward to seeing you together to experience two significant moments that reflect the mission of our Association: to unite research, education and community around the world of string instruments.
