""On 19 and 20 October 2017 a Master Class was held at the Teatro Comunale di Sant'Arsenio (SA) on the violin school of the famous violinist Jascha Heifetz, made by the American violinist Sherry Kloss, student and then assistant of Heifetz himself.

The event was born thanks to the commitment of the Maestro Mauro Tortorelli, violin teacher at the Conservatory of Potenza, internationally renowned concert performer, as well as ESTA delegate for Southern Italy supported by the Municipality of Sant'Arsenio, the Monte Pruno Giovani Association and Banca Monte Pruno col patronage of ESTA Italia.

An interesting opportunity for ESTA members who were entitled to a discount of 20% on the registration fee.

The Master Class he held Sherry Kloss in addition to being interesting from a technical-violinistic point of view, it was a didactic experience, especially stylistic-interpretive, rich in the teachings of the great Masters of the past who never used the technique as an end in itself but always combined with a wise interpretation of the text . Heifetz's anecdotes are interesting and numerous told by the violinist to the young audience who was enthusiastic about it and who took the opportunity to ask questions giving rise to deep but also amusing reflections.

The splendid possibility of having a direct descendant of Jascha Heifetz in Sant'Arsenio was a privilege and an opportunity for all young violinists from the provinces of Salerno, Naples and Caserta and from all over Italy to learn directly the art of great Master Jascha Heifetz.

The style that sings by violinist Sherry Kloss reflects the influence of her studio with Nathan Milstein is Jascha Heifetz.

Jascha Heifetz named her his violin class assistant in 1980 at the University of Southern California. She held this position until the Master died.

Heifetz confirmed his trust in Sherry Kloss giving her his Tononi violin with which the great Maestro made his famous debut in 1917 at Carnegie Hall in New York.

It is on this historical instrument that she now makes her recordings and concerts on stages all over the world. In addition to his concert career Sherry Kloss dedicates himself to teaching divulging the large Heifetz school in Australia, Southern California and Indiana. Sherry Kloss she is the Artistic Director of the Institute of Music for the Development of Personal Style and Co-founder of the Jascha Heifetz Society.

His book Jascha Heifetz through my eyes, it has received national and international critical acclaim and has even been translated into Chinese.

The project for the diffusion of J. Heifetz's teachings in Italy through the figure of Sherry Kloss was conceived by the violinist and teacher and partner Esta Nicola Manzo unfortunately suddenly and recently disappeared to whose memory this event is dedicated.
